Malta week 12

Dear Dutchies and/or other readers,

This week was pretty relaxed, Monday was the same as always, picking the orders, making sure that the orders are ready for delivery, and working on my blog. Tuesday, was a pretty tough one, the supplier came with about 8 pallets, and then we started to unbox it, unfortunately we weren't able to finish the unboxing the same day, so we finished it the day after. Then we batched the treats again, and put some expiry dates on it. Then I had Friday to finish my core tasks of course.

This was it for this week, I hope I will have more information next week!

Malta week 11

Dear Dutchies and/or readers,

This week was quite interesting, since I've learnt a lot of new things. An example of this is the website, I was not familiar with the platform called: Shopify. Anyways, I do think that this platform is really useful, since you can analyse a lot of statistics.

The supplier came with the shipment at Tuesday, together we finished the unboxing of the shipment the same day, which was very nice, so we could start with the treats/toys the next day, instead of finishing the shipment.

I personally do notice, that the supply will get less, this could be because, we still have a lot of products from last 2 supplies, and maybe the orders were remaining the same.

Also I've got 2 new housemates, they are called, Chkola and Tess.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to the next week.

This was it for this week, I hope you've enjoyed it.

See you next week.

Best wishes,

Rik

Malta week 10

Dear Dutchies and readers,

This week was not my best one so far, since I suffered from a stomach flu.

When I came back on Thursday, there were so many products on the pallets, it was incredible. Personally, I think this were the most treats I've ever dealt with so far. Luckily, the time flies like that, and we worked together really well, so we were able to finish it on Friday in the afternoon.

Finally, I can proudly announce that I am one of the volunteers, that are organising the Internship start week for the people of Dutch young people in Malta.

See you all next week.

Best wishes,

Rik Korevaar

Malta week 9

Dear Dutchies,

This week was one of my best weeks so far!

Monday I was assigned to one of the sales persons, and we were going to some shops to buy some products, which would be sold to the ones that pre-ordered some products on our website, and in the afternoon there was a huge shipment coming, since there was no supply for 2 weeks, we got like triple the amount this time, and tomorrow this will be the same. There was also a new student, and I was really happy that I wasn't doing the expiration dates for the treats all by myself, and also everyone helped, since this shipment was to big to do it yourself. On Thursday, I was allowed to put some new products on our website, and I was introduced to a new platform called Shopify. On Thursday we had a party from someone that was leaving Malta.

Friday we went to the Black Gold bar, with some Dutchies to celebrate my birthday at 00:00, and it was organized really well, and Saturday, some friends took me out for dinner, and unfortunately since yesterday, I am suffering from a stomach flu.

This is it for this week, I hope you've enjoyed it.

See you next week!

Rik

Malta week 8

Dear Dutchies and other readers,

This is already week 8 from my internship in Malta, due to my 2 weeks of holiday, I haven't posted 2 weeks.

This week was pretty boring in my view, due to the holidays and national days, the supplier didn't come for 2 weeks, which means that there is not a much to do, also a lot of products were not even in stock. This also means that next weeks orders, will be a lot. Also the shipment will be huge shipment coming Tuesday.

On the other hand it was very good, that we didn't have shipments this week, since I got to do some new things, and now I do have more experience, which is very nice.

Today, my colleague will go back to Germany unfortunately, and there are some rumours that there will come a new student.

That was it for this week.

I hope you've all enjoyed.

Best wishes,

Rik Korevaar

Malta week 5

Dear Dutchies and colleagues,

This is already the end of week 5.

This was an amazing week, since a colleague went to the Czech Republic for holiday, I had to do most of the work myself, which was not a really big problem, since the shipment wasn't that big this week, so I was able to finish it on Thursday.

Thursday we went to a restaurant with the whole team for Christmas Dinner, which was really nice in my opinion, since I got to know my colleagues better. The food was delicious, we started with some Maltese appetizers, after that we got a Pasta and when we completed this we got the main course, and mine was Chicken breast fillet. Finally we got a dessert, which is called Helwa tat-Tork, which is really strange for most people from foreign Countries, since it taste really sweet and salty at the same time, because of the Sesame seeds.

Today we were off, as preparation of the Christmas.

This was it for this week.

See you next week.

Malta week 4

Dear Dutchies,

This blog will be slightly different, since this would be the first blog in English. This is because of the curiosity from people from my Internship.

First of all I want to say, that my Internship became way more fun, this is because of the experience I have now, and I will get more responsibility as well, which I really like. Last week I went to some local petshops, to buy products our supplier isn't able to deliver in time. Since we have a lot of customers (B2B and B2C as well), some customers want special items, that we need to buy somewhere else, in order to get it.

Wednesday 5 December is a national day in the Netherlands which is called Sinterklaas, with the group of Dutch students in Malta we celebrated this event, which was really fun and also really good organised. After that we went out to Footloose. There were appromixately 75 Dutch student, which was really nice to met new people there. The only disadvantage of this is when I was on my way home, someone ran into me, and I fell, and also tried to save myself from falling, but unfortunately my right wrist didn't fall good, and I had to go to the hospital the next day, and after many different visits to hospitals, my wrist is bruised heavily, which is good and bad at the same time, since bruised wrists are more painful than fractured wrists, but it is more handy, that is for sure.

So the next morning I talked with my supervisor about it, and we found a way, to manage it and still do all the same tasks. The weekend itself was not really special, it was just like a regular household weekend without plans.

This was the update for week 4.

I hope you've enjoyed reading.

See you next week.

Rik

Week 3

Beste lezers,

Rik.
